We’ve successfully reached the halfway mark on Warped Tour, so far, so good. This past month of my life has felt like a year, but that’s a good thing, I don’t mind everything slowing down, life moves way too fast. I’m living the kind of summer I dreamed about growing up, I get to do what I love everyday and spend every minute with my closest friends. There are certain times in your life that you wish you could go back to, moments you want to live on forever, I have no doubt in my mind that this summer is going to be one of those.

Today's been a beautiful day on Columbia Maryland.

Warped tour has been the summer camp experience I never got as a kid. I feel like I've grown more this past month than most people do in a year. Most days consist of non stop running around and an over stimulated mind that never has the chance to settle. Once the suns down and my thoughts have the chance to make cohesive sense I get to appreciate how truly lucky I am. This is what I dreamed of doing as a kid, and I'm actually doing it.

I'm sure you've herd it a million times already but I'm going to say it a million times more, live each day as if it were your last. This is my summer of love and i'll be living each day to fullest, I suggest you do the same.

  • The Warped Tour Roller Coaster

By: The Summer Set on 07.15.10

    Hey there,

It's crazy to think that we're already almost halfway through Warped Tour. As of today we've only got one month left. Summer Camp is moving fast.

I feel like I've spent most of this week on a rollercoaster. We had a day off on Monday at Six Flags in New England and yesterday we played at Darien Lakes Center outside of Buffalo. Being a rollercoaster buff, I took advantage of every ride I could.

All this time on rollercoasters got me thinking; touring is a lot like riding a rollercoaster. It has it's ups and downs, its an adrenaline rush, it moves crazy fast, but by the time its over you wish it didn't end.

Let's make this last month count. If we haven't made it to your city yet come hang out with us. Don't miss out.

    Best,

    Brian

Today the Vans Warped Tour stopped in Indianapolis.

So far this has been the best tour I’ve ever been, we’re truly lucky to be a part of this. I feel like a kid at summer camp, the parallels I can draw between the two are endless.

The buses are like our cabins; you know some people, and some you’re meeting for the first time. Our tour manager Courtney is kinda like our camp counselor, she takes real good care of us. Playing shows is like doing activities, (archery, canoeing, hiking, etc) and the BBQ every night is like having a bonfire, except with alcohol so it’s more fun. Just like at camp, there’s that girl you see everyday that you think is cute but you’re too scared to talk to, and there’s still your group of best friends that you spend your days with. You make new friends and grow with the old ones and everyday brings something new.

I kinda feel like I’m writing a letter home to my parents right now, except I didn’t have a computer back then. Anyways, in short, I love Camp Warped.

    Yo!

So we're about a week into the Vans Warped Tour already and it's going fast. The Summer Set has never played a single show on Warped Tour but we've all been attending since we were kids so we didn't really know what we were getting ourselves into. Needless to say, I think this is shaping up to be the most fun summer of our lives. It's kind of like being at Summer Camp. In the words of John Gomez, "It's like being back in high school, but you're not the only one wearing tight pants."

The shows have been unreal. We're playing a few more songs from our album Love Like This and it's incredible to hear everyone singing along to every word as loud as they can. Yesterday in San Antonio was probably the craziest show of this tour yet. It started raining while we were playing, Josh and Stephen played in their underwear, and I'm pretty sure everything was about to spontaneously combust on stage. Nonetheless, it was the most insane crowd we've played in front of on this tour so far.

This tour has only just begun, so if we haven't made it to your city yet make sure you get tickets and come out. You don't wanna miss this. Take my word for it.

Here's to a summer of love,

P.S.- We're usually doing signings at the Glamour Kills tent every other day. Make sure you come by and say hello!

  • The Ol' Warped Tour

    The Ol' Warped Tour

    Hey everybody,
My name is MIchael. Some of you may know me if you've been to the GK tent at Warped Tour in 08, 09 or this year, or maybe from the Bamboozle Roadshow last month, but for those of you who don't...allow me to introduce myself.
I am not nearly as cool as Vinny Vegas, Pickel, Joe Prior, or lastly...Derek Sanders.
This summer, GK is sharing a bus with the band Mayday Parade. When I asked their singer, Derek, what the blog should be about...he jokingly said him. I don't understand sarcasm, so for my first Warped Tour blog...I've decided to feature Derek Sanders of Mayday Parade.
At 6'1" and 130 lbs, Derek may not come across as the typical domineering frontman of a rock band. Once you get to know him, you'll see that he actually cares about the music his band writes, and about the fans who support them. Don't believe me? Mayday Parade will be signing at the Glamour Kills tent this summer on Warped Tour (along with The Summer Set, Set Your Goals, and We Are The In Crowd), and I would definitely suggest you stop by and meet these bands. Great people all around.
Oh, and above is a picture from the archives, 2007 actually, when I first toured with Mayday Parade as their merch guy. Yes...that is a vest made for animals, and yes, we were in Old Navy.
Check back for exclusive updates from the road, pictures, videos and more!
    Thanks for reading,
    Michael...or MTAR, whichever you prefer.
